  • 1.  Updates on restrictions in the ACT

    Posted 13-01-2022 09:03

The ACT Government has reintroduced some restrictions which commenced 12 noon, Saturday 8 January 2022. The ACT along with NSW and other jurisdictions, is currently reviewing restrictions and settings and there may be further adjustments.

We will keep members up to date with new information as it is provided, and we urge all businesses to regularly visit the ACT Government's COVID-19 website at covid19.act.gov.au and the Business Hub.

You can access the latest factsheets here for interim guidance on managing a potential or confirmed case of COVID-19. We have been advised that further resources for business are under development.

Businesses in hospitality, retail, tourism, fitness, and the arts are being forced to close as staff isolate or quarantine, with long wait times for PCR test results and no RAT availability.

For those that can open, there's been a huge downturn in customer confidence and trade. Cancellations and no-shows are common, and customers are attending venues to find them understaffed, or shops to find no stock.

The Canberra Business Chamber has urged the ACT government to support #canberrabusiness to keep their doors open in these difficult first months of 2022. Read Canberra Times full story here - Canberra business representatives call out for COVID support
