Wage Subsidy for new Apprentices/Trainees Extended

Dear Members,

I am pleased to inform you that the government has extended the popular wage subsidy incentive program (Boosting Apprenticeship Commencement) for 3 months until 30 June 2022.
Any employer who takes on an Apprentice or Trainee up until 30 June 2022 can gain access to:
  1. 50 % of the eligible Australian Apprentice’s wages in the first year, capped at a maximum payment value of $7,000 per quarter per Australian Apprentice,
  2. 10 % of the eligible Australian Apprentice’s wages in the second year, capped at a maximum payment value of $1,500 per quarter per Australian Apprentice, and
  3. 5 % of the eligible Australian Apprentice’s wages in the third year, capped at a maximum payment value of $750 per quarter per Australian Apprentice.

In addition, small businesses that spend on new technologies and training courses to upskill staff will be able to claim 120% of the costs as deductions until 30 June 2024

This is a game-changer for employers as it will help reduce payroll costs as well as provide your staff with government-funded training through flexible on-the-job learning.
At REACH for Training, we are able to offer nationally recognised courses to your staff for a subsidised training fee of $350 under ACT government funding. Training is extremely flexible and is delivered on the job through monthly trainer visits which will support and guide them in completing the qualification. Trainees may also be eligible to receive a completion payment of $300 when they successfully finish the course. Please see below some of the courses that we can deliver to your staff:

Please see below the eligibility criteria for your staff to undertake traineeship and for your organisation to qualify for the wage subsidy incentive.

1. Permanent residents/Citizens of Australia
2. New Workers (Full time employed within the last 3 months or Part-time employed within the last 12 months).
3. Existing workers (employed for more than 1 year) can be eligible if the business changes their employment status from casuals to either part-time/full time or from part-time to full time
